Welcome to KDP Farms.  We have been raising rabbits for six years.   We started out in with rabbits, because my husband loves to eat the wild ones.  I always looked at them as pets.  So we started out with a pair of each of the meat rabbits.  Then our son decided he wanted a pair of mini rex.  He started raising rabbits also.  We went to an animal swap were he went off and bought a mini rex.  Which turned out to be a standard rex.  That is how we got started with the standard rex.

 

After our first rabbit show we all got a little excited.  We found out that the Judges liked the blocky heads, color and the size of our young rabbits.  Which also caused our little rabbitry to grow.  We started getting phone calls from 4H kids looking for show rabbits, other rabbitries looking for breeders.  We take them to school so the kids can handle them and care for them.  Our rabbits have great personalities and loves attention. 

 

We do offer to help children who wish to show rabbits or horses that do not have access to them.  We want children of our community to have the option to be involved in 4H and other programs that require the animals, even if they live in town.
